Curt Cooper is a long-time resident of the Pittsburgh area, and has been playing
guitar and singing for many years. A multi-instrumentalist, Curt plays flute, guitar, and
fiddle, and has played with several old-time Appalachian square dance and bluegrass bands in
the Pittsburgh area, and currently plays bass with
Grand Bon Rien, Pittsburgh's traditional
Cajun band. Curt has studied Irish fiddle styles under master fiddler Brendan Mulvihill. He
has also worked as a children's song leader for churches for several years.
Curt has been a featured performer for the Pittsburgh Songwriter's Guild, and
for the Reston Folk Club in Herndon, VA. He also teaches classes in singing and guitar for
Calliope, the Pittsburgh Folk Music Society.
